Organic yellows
Clean, vivid synthetic yellows from the monoazo and isoindolinone families, used where yellow ochre would be too earthy.
Synthetic organic yellows developed through the twentieth century as safer, cleaner alternatives to older lead and cadmium yellows in decorative paints.
They give bright lemon, sunny and mustard notes their clarity. Mixed with oxides or blacks, they also help build fresh greens and lively warm neutrals.
Organic yellow is not or yellow (PY42): those are iron-based and muted, while these are carbon-based and high-chroma.
These articles explain pigment and mineral families, not the sourcing or complete formulation of any Cameron Colours paint. Historical names can cover different materials. Follow the product guidance and safety data for the paint you use; do not handle or heat raw pigment powders at home.
