Cookie Policy

What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, provide a better user experience, and give website owners useful information about how their sites are used.
How We Use Cookies
Cameron Colours uses cookies and similar technologies for several purposes:
Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the website to function properly. They enable core functionality such as security, network management, and account access. You cannot opt out of these cookies.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| cookie-consent, cookie-consent-history, consent-visitor-id | Stores your cookie choices and a record of when you made them | Until cleared |
| cameron-colours-cart | Keeps your basket between pages and visits | Until cleared |
| sb-…-auth-token | Keeps you signed in to your account | Until you sign out |
When you continue to checkout, Shopify (which runs our checkout and payments) sets its own cookies on the checkout pages, for example:
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| cart, cart_sig, cart_ts, checkout_session_token | Runs the checkout and keeps your order details secure | Session to 2 weeks |
| _secure_session_id, keep_alive, _cmp_a, _tracking_consent | Security, session continuity and storing your checkout privacy choices | Session to 1 year |
| _shopify_y, _shopify_s, _shopify_sa_p, _shopify_sa_t | Shopify checkout analytics, set only where permitted by your choices | 30 minutes to 1 year |
See Shopify's own cookie information at shopify.com/legal/cookies.
Functional Cookies
These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalisation, such as remembering your preferences and accessibility settings.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| accessibility-settings | Stores accessibility preferences | 1 year |
| cameron-colours-favourites, cameron-colours-starred | Remembers your favourite and starred colours | Until cleared |
| cameron-quiz-progress | Saves your colour quiz progress | Until cleared |
Analytics Cookies
With your permission we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are used, so we can improve the website. Google receives the pages you view, browser/device information and IP address. Google Analytics does not load until you accept Analytics, never runs on account or sign-in pages, respects supported browser opt-outs, and its cookies are removed when you withdraw consent. We tell Google Analytics not to use this information for advertising.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics: distinguishes visitors and sessions | Up to 2 years |
See how Google uses this information at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Marketing Cookies
These cookies are used to deliver advertisements more relevant to you and your interests. They may also be used to limit the number of times you see an advertisement and measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.
OpenAI advertising measurement receives page visits, advertising click identifiers, browser/device information and IP address. OpenAI's automatic advanced matching may detect contact details entered on the site (such as an email address), hash them in your browser and use the hashes to match conversions to ad clicks. Measurement is blocked until you accept Marketing, and respects explicit refusals and supported browser opt-outs.
Your browser stores your choices, a random consent identifier, the time, region and the version and text of the notice you saw. Earlier choices remain in the consent history when you withdraw. When you arrive from a ChatGPT ad, the OpenAI pixel stores the ad click reference (oppref) in a first-party cookie so a later purchase can be linked to that click. Opening Cookie settings does not change your decision; saving marketing off withdraws it, including in other open tabs.
