Taupe and Greige Paint Colour Scale
Soft greige stepping down to deep, earthy taupe.
Six greiges and taupes from barely-there to rich, with Alabaster™ on the ceiling. They share 3000K warm white, and the two deepest steps glow under 2700K too.

The white we’d pair with this scale
Alabaster™ is a creamy white with a warm undertone that suits the taupe family. It sits comfortably above Daub™, the palest step, so ceiling and walls stay distinct.
The light this scale shares
3000K warm white, with a 2700K glow at the deep end
The paler steps rate strongest under 3000K warm white. Gruit™ and Whimgin™, the two deepest, look their very best under a 2700K bulb and still sit well at 3000K, so the whole scale works in a room lit with either.
Choosing between 2700K, 3000K and 4000KHow to decorate with the Taupe & Greige scale
- Ceiling
- Alabaster™, for a warm, soft lid on the room.
- Walls
- Cadeby™ or Whalebone™ for a light neutral room; Olympic™ for a cosier one.
- Woodwork
- One step deeper than the walls, such as Olympic™ against Whalebone™.
- Cabinetry
- Gruit™ or Whimgin™, especially in rooms lit by warmer lamps.
