Developed for this surface

Furniture is touched, moved and used every day. We choose high-quality resin for adhesion, durability and a smooth feel, so a colour change delivers a finish suited to living with the piece, not just looking at it.

Better rolling. Easier working.

Easy brush flow helps on legs and mouldings; improved rollability supports an even finish on larger faces. Clean and key the existing finish, use thin coats and allow proper curing before putting objects back on painted surfaces.

Self-priming

No separate primer on sound, correctly cleaned and keyed previously coated timber and laminate furniture surfaces. Full adhesion develops over the 7-day cure, so a fresh paint film is still fragile: treat it gently for the first week.

Self-levelling, with a hand-painted character

Our paints are self-levelling: as they dry, they flow out into a smooth, even film, so roller texture settles rather than drying in. When applied with a brush, they are designed to leave a slight brush-mark texture, because a hand-painted appearance is often exactly what people want on cabinets, furniture and woodwork.

High opacity for big colour changes

High pigment loading gives our paints high opacity: colour builds quickly and evenly and hides what is underneath, which helps most on difficult surfaces and big colour changes. Two full coats usually give the true colour, but three coats may be necessary depending on the surface and how the paint is applied, for example a pale colour over a dark one, or a porous or patchy surface.

More coverage. Stronger colour.

Coverage is where cheaper paint quietly costs you. Our paints cover up to 14 m² per litre, against the roughly 10 m² per litre typical of cheaper decorative paints — so a tin goes noticeably further. Higher pigment loading also gives high opacity: the colour builds quickly and evenly, so less effort goes into reaching a solid, rich finish. Two full coats usually give the true colour; some surfaces, big colour changes and application methods need three.

Engineered from the raw materials up

Tinted to order in Nottinghamshire. Each formula starts with the raw materials rather than a price-cutting exercise. Each formulation is engineered for its intended surface, compared with market leaders and refined with durability, adhesion and application in mind. High-quality resins at high loadings build the tougher film and smoother feel; specialist formulations mean you are not asked to use one paint for every job.

Colour designed for your home

We chose pure, concentrated colourant beads and developed the paint and colourant to work in balance. Our colours are engineered for shifting UK light, with carefully considered undertones and relationships across the palette. You can carry a colour scheme from walls to furniture and exterior details while choosing the right formulation for each surface.

Ultra-low VOC — maximum 15 g/L

Our paints are Ultra-low VOC: they contain a maximum of 15 g/L of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), well below 30 g/L. This describes VOC content, not a guarantee of hazard-free use; ventilate during painting and follow the product guidance.

Scrubbable versus washable — what the test tells you

Scrubbable is about how much paint remains after repeated cleaning, not just whether a mark can be wiped away. EN 13300 classifies wet-scrub resistance using the ISO 11998 test, which measures paint-film thickness lost after controlled wet scrubbing. After 200 cycles, Class 1 loses less than 5 micrometres (µm); Class 2 loses 5 to less than 20 µm; Class 3 loses 20 to less than 70 µm. Lower film loss means better resistance to that cleaning test. Our paints are Class 1 scrubbable. These figures are the class limits, not individual measured results for each tin.

“Washable” alone does not guarantee a particular test class. A paint marketed as washable may tolerate light wiping yet have poorer wet-scrub resistance than Class 1 paint. Compare the declared class rather than the wording on the tin: a Class 2 or Class 3 coating allows more film to be lost in the same 200-cycle test. Class 1 is the highest wet-scrub resistance class, but it is not a promise of complete stain removal or immunity to every cleaner. Let the paint fully cure and follow the cleaning guidance.
